Located in Janesville, this WWII-era underpass crosses Parker Drive (US-51) north of downtown.
Built in 1942, the bridge consists of a single deck plate girder span, set onto concrete substructures. Unfortunately, no plaque could be found on the bridge.
This style span was commonly built during the late 1930s and early 1940s to cross major roads, and was often funded by the Works Progress Administration (WPA).
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition, with no significant deterioration noted. The
The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design and newer age. The photo above is an overview.
